This is the first day I took an unplanned day off from gym. Our little gym has some but very little a/c and I know it's been closed up since Saturday. I didn't think my asthma could take the heat. I did start my day with a typical gym-day like breakfast. I had my usual Fage Greek 2% yogurt with Nutrisystem Granola Cereal and some fresh blueberries.
It was a good thing I didn't go to the gym because we had some unscheduled workers call early in the morning telling us they were showing up NOW for some repair work needed. I had nothing in the house to snack on so I didn't snack.
The workers finally took a break after 1:00. My breakfast had long-since worn off. I heated the little leftovers from last night's dinner (fried rice and Mongolian beef). I shared those with my husband. It was small but a enough to be filling.
The workers worked late into the afternoon so I couldn't leave to go shop. No afternoon snack.
It's 97F out and no way was I cooking. I cleaned up a little and we went up the street for some light dinner and air conditioning. We started with one of our regulars, the wings. These are not overly sauced, in fact, this time a bit dry. They were tasty. Then we finished with our charcuterie plate which has shrunk considerably in the last year we've been sampling this dish.
We each had about 4 bites of bread pudding and we left the rest.
Even though I didn't eat a lot it was still more calories (and salt with dinner) than I needed. It was a long hot day. Workers come back tomorrow so I'll be hostage again until they are done. Hope your week is shaping up well! See you Tuesday.
