It's the weekend and it supposed to be warming up. Excuses to not walk because of the cold or rain are over. It's a good thing because I'm not having the healthiest of breakfasts but probably not all that bad. We made a quick trip to the beach and ate at one of our favorite places. I had my usual, 1/2 of a 1/2 of a salami, ham and provolone on baguette. As always I discarded the top piece of bread and ate it open face.
I saved the other half for later. I took the extra bread home to cut up and feed to the birds. So the real bad news came when my husband showed up at the table with this Napoleon. I had a few swallows of coffee left so I used it to wash down a couple of "less than lady-like" bites. What could be bad about cream and flaky pastry?
I think the snack was well covered with the above pastry but alas when we returned home we heated the end of the beignets and I had one with some coffee.
I finally got hungry again so I ate the other half of my sandwich, sans top half of the bread. Once again the birds were the recipients of the extra bread.
Every time I eat I think I'll never be hungry again. That typically never lasts longer than 4 hours. I fixed a snack with Toscano salami (1 ounce) and a little Parmigiano Reggiano (about 1/2 ounce). Note the image shows servings for 2 of us, not one.
Bound and determined to use up my fattening leftovers I made up a field greens salad and served it with the remaining bites of fried chicken breast.
Dinner was comparatively light compared to the rest of the day. I decided to treat myself to a bag of Nutrisystem Sweet and Salty Snack Mix.
My food choices were not horrible but could have definitely used some improvement. I got several walks in so I even exceeded my 10k goal. I have one more weekend day to go. Hope you all enjoy yours and I'll catch back up tomorrow.
