No gym today so I spent a few extra minutes on breakfast. I scrambled an egg, sliced half of a small banana and toasted a half of a light whole wheat muffin. I slopped a small amount of butter on the muffin.
I snacked on about 6 small raw almonds, 2 slices of Toscano salami and one stick of low fat string cheese. I took a walk into town but less than 2 miles. Hopefully I walked off that snack and some breakfast.
I had some leftover steak from dinner last night. I sliced a few thin slices. I placed the steak on a slice of Dave's Killer skinny bread coated with a light slathering of mayonnaise. I sprinkled all the above with some kosher salt and pepper.
It was not much to look at but it filled the void in my stomach. I guess I could have flopped a lettuce leaf on the bread but, oh well.
I had another half ounce (about 2 slices) of Toscano salami. It's just so handy.
I rescued a Nutrisystem Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast from the freezer. I heated that and served the last of my Italian Heirloom Broccoli, sauteed with some garlic. I prepped a field greens salad with my usual balsamic, olive oil and kosher salt. I sprinkled some raw sunflower seeds atop the salad for good measure.
About an hour after dinner I gave in to my desires for something sweet. I opened a bag of Nutrisystem Chocolate Sandwich Cookies and ate one and 1/2 cookies.
Close but no cigar! I was about 2k steps short of my goal. My calories were low to moderate. I'm concerned that doing a diet on my own is not as good as the Nutrisystem regime. This remains to be seen. I'll be checking back in tomorrow.
