This was my first day back at the gym for a month! After fighting a wicked cold for two weeks then two weeks of travel; I'm finally getting back to a more normal regime. I have a few remaining Nutrisystem foods so I'll be using them up and combining them with my own foods and cooking. My goal is to be back on my own food wise and still losing weight. Unfortunately after no gym for a month and 2 weeks of travel my weight did go up almost 3 lbs.
Today breakfast was about 1/2 cup of Fage 2% Greek Yogurt with about 1/4 cup fresh organic blueberries. I also scrambled an egg and toasted 1/2 of a light whole wheat English muffin. I added a conservative slathering of butter on the toast, about 1 teaspoon.
I usually walk after the gym but I just didn't have time today. I was hungry when I got back from my workout so I made a fresh cup of black coffee and ate 1 bag of the Nutrisystem Vanilla Shortbread Cookies. In reality, this was more calories than a snack should be.
I was happy to still have some Nutrisystem lunch items left in stock for a quick lunch. I heated a Nutrisystem Hamburger and added 1/2 ounce of cheddar cheese. I guess I didn't need the cheese but it sounded good. I topped the beef with mustard, then added some tomato and yellow onion. I was hungry enough it all tasted great.
I had my same snack as yesterday even though I know the calories are higher than they should have been. I had about an ounce of cheddar cheese and 3 little Rosemary crackers.
I had a roasted chicken thigh left over from dinner last night. I sliced that and served it atop a bed of mixed field greens. I also added some chopped red cabbage, scallion, radishes and tomato. I also added about 1 ounce crumbled blue cheese and a scattering of raw sunflower seed kernels. For dressing I used my usual olive oil, balsamic vinegar and kosher salt.
Dinner was great and perfectly filling but eventually a little snack sounded good. I had about 1/2 ounce raw cashew nuts and 2 1/2" squares of really dark chocolate.
If I want to lose weight and not maintain I'll have to get my calories down to the 1000 - 1100 calorie a day level. It felt good to be back at the gym. Rain is done here so I should be able to get a good walk in tomorrow. Until then, have a great week and I'll see you tomorrow.
