I'm trying to recover from time changes and time zone changes. I was just awake enough to heat a Nutrisystem Cinnamon Streusel Muffin. I washed it down with some nice hot coffee. I added some cream to my coffee.
Breakfast was a little on the "light" side so I was getting hungry by snack time. I snacked on a stick of light string cheese.
I did make a trek to the farmer's market so I snagged a good supply of field greens which I combined with extra baby spinach, baby arugula and baby kale. I measured out a portion and dressed it with my usual olive oil, balsamic vinegar and kosher salt. I served it with a Nutrisystem Pepperoni Pizza Melt.
I prepped 3 little Rosemary crackers with about an ounce of extra sharp cheddar cheese. I shared a plate but I scooted the other portion to the other side lest I be tempted to eat more.
After too many meals out, something home cooked sounded good. I roasted some chicken thighs (bone-in) but first removed the skin. I topped them with a little salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, granulated garlic, and brown, unhulled sesame seeds. I also steamed some Italian heirloom broccoli (broccolini). I topped the broccolini with some red pepper flakes.
I had a cup of hot coffee with one Walkers Shortbread cookie (100 calories). These are so good!
In the afternoon I tackled some yard work, mostly raking and some weed pulling. I got one walk in, short of 2 miles. My meals were pretty healthy for first day back in the real world. I'll need to do some meal planning, something I'm not good at and frankly, I dread. Let's see how this week goes. See you Monday when I go back to the gym for the first time in a month.
