Breakfast was a strange one. Not that the food was all that unusual but just the items I decided to combine. I had a little tub, 70 calories of non fat strawberry flavored yogurt. To that I added about a tablespoon of scrambled egg and half a flour tortilla with a tablespoon or two of a homemade salsa. The salsa was the standout. I'm more a fan of corn tortillas but the flour was OK.
I had an iced coffee around 11:30, black, no cream
I had an order of California Roll sushi which I ate about 2/3. I had a side seaweed salad which I loved, loved! The plate of sushi shown was for two by the way. I devoured the seaweed salad all by myself.
I was still full from lunch so I didn't have any snack.
I decided to try a little Italian place close to where I am staying. While it was not the worst meal I've had it was sadly lacking. I had a bite of bread but it was awful. It was some strange, white, steamed, something. I had a small salad which tasted fine but was lacking in presentation which is not a big deal. Most importantly it was pretty fresh. It was served with some bottled dressing. I ordered a simple penne pasta with garlic and olive oil. In Italian cooking 1a (or even more fundamental) you learn you do NOT overcook pasta. This was sadly overcooked Additionally they served it with Parmesan that was out of a box/can. This is so sad. This restaurant which was empty, I guess for obvious reasons, could fix a couple of things which would cost them very little and probably triple their business. I brought most my pasta home though I doubt I'll eat it. My husband ordered dessert and I had "a" bite. It was a tiramisu, but not very good, but again not the worst I've ever had.
This is the tiramisu my husband ordered.
I hit over 10K steps for the day so that was a very good thing! My meals were a little odd but that's just how things go sometimes when one is traveling. My culinary highlight for the day was my seaweed salad. I could eat that everyday. Hope you all are having a good week. I'll check back in tomorrow, hopefully.
