There was no way I was going to hit the gym this morning; still feeling lousy with this cold. Isn't it strange that we are these big humans and those tiny little viruses can take us down. That said I took advantage of my Nutrisystem food stash and heated a Nutrisystem Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffin. I had a few banana slices on the side. Nothing tastes good when I have a cold and this was no exception. At least I wasn't hungry afterwards.
I always know I'm "OK" when I still have an appetite. I sliced the rest of my poached chicken (it's better days are far behind) and slapped it on top of a slice of Killer Dave's skinny bread with a little mayo, kosher salt and pepper. What I could taste of it tasted OK.
My snack was late so I just had a cup of coffee with a bag of Nutrisystem Biscotti Bites. For some reason "sweets" just sounded good.
There is always that problem when I don't eat a nutritious meal at meal time I get "snacky" later. I managed to plow through 1 ounce of Toscano salami, a small slice of Parmesan cheese and a cup of coffee with 1 tablespoon of cream. Sheesh!
Real food sounded better than anything Nutrisystem had to offer me. I prepared a pork chop and some fresh steamed green beans. I gave the last quarter of my small pork chop to my husband. For whatever reason I filled up fast.
I know these pork chops look giant but they were not. I had the one on the left, about 4 ounces, the one one the right was about 6 ounces.
I did get a little hungry later so I had about another ounce of those too-darn-good raw cashew nuts. After that I had about 1/4 cup of Fage 2% yogurt with a drizzle of honey and some chopped walnuts.
I headed to bed early hoping to shake this cold; I'm cautiously optimistic. This was more of a snack day than meal day but not bad all things considering. Perhaps I should have made chicken soup? I did get one walk in, about 1.5 miles each way, not bad. I'll let you know how it's going again tomorrow. Have a great week!
