That was good news! I was afraid that extra flex meal for dinner may have done me in. So I'm back to where I was a week ago. I'm cool with that.
This may be a good time to discuss unplanned "flex meals". This is my opinion as a professional (eh, um) or serial dieter. If an eating plan is going to become your lifestyle for a long time which is what it takes to lose weight and keep it off; then you need to go with the flow and allow that to happen but don't make a habit of it. You have to live your life. Would you have rather spent your last meal hunkered over a frozen entree, or an hour or two in a restaurant with a good friends, husband, etc. Just don't go nuts. Don't do it everyday to the point where your weight loss stops. But if life gets in the way of your diet, take it easy, don't pig out, just savor the meal and keep it as healthy as possible. After all, the point is we are supposed to be learning how to eat sensibly and control our portion sizes so think of these meals as "practice". OK, so I'm off my soap box now.
I heated a Nutrisystem Buttermilk Waffle (2) but only ate one. Then i heated a couple slices of my Uncured Canadian Bacon (ham). My calories were a little lower than I'd like before a workout but I did just fine.
About a half of an hour after my workout I frothed up one of my usual Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream Protein shakes.
I had some tasks I had to accomplish after my workout so lunch hit around 12:30. I was pretty hungry by then. I heated one of the Nutrisystem Tortilla Soup meals. These actually take longer to prep than the frozen or other shelf stable entrees. While the soup was becoming soup I mixed up my usual salad greens. I even took an extra minute to dice some scallion for my salad. I was going to add some red bell pepper but realized it has turned to mush in my vegetable bin.
I rolled up two slices of my Kirkland Extra Lean ham and dunked them in mustard.
I have to use up some of these Nutrisystem shelf-stable meals so I selected the Nutrisystem Sante Fe Style Chicken. I haven't had this (I don't think) since one of my first days on Nutrisystem. It's pretty good. It was warm, I was hungry, I ate it. I also steamed some fresh green beans. I like them just cooked enough to heat them through but not get soggy.
Not sure I needed dessert but I wanted it. I had most of one of the Nutrisystem Orange Cream Bars. It was cold out so I ate a little over half before I got too cold to continue.
After dinner I hopped on my treadmill for about 20 minutes. I still did not make my 11k goal but I walk faster on my treadmill than I do outside, typically. I managed to exceed my water goal for the first time. I kept on track with my Nutrisystem meals. A good day all in all. See you tomorrow!
