This was an unpleasant way to start my Monday. I thought for sure my weight would be down. I think it is time for drastic measures.
I have a really early appointment. I whipped up a quick Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream protein shake; my usual half portion. I'll have the other have when I get back. I'll walk to my appointment so I'll get about 5k steps in. You may or may not have noticed but I missed my workout due to a scheduling conflict.
I had the other half of my Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream protein shake for my snack. My plan of attack for the day is to try to go higher protein for the day. Will this snap me out of this plateau? Who the heck knows. I just need to try something. Of course, I'm sure you all know it is Thanksgiving on this Thursday. We're keeping it very light. The menu is real basic. For appetizers we'll have the Parmesan Sesame Twists which are light and very tasty. For the main course we are having fresh-cracked crab and a Caesar Salad. This is the REAL Caesar salad, fresh croutons from scratch made with homemade garlic olive oil. The dressing will have raw egg and anchovies. For dessert we'll have the Cream Cheese Pumpkin Pie and coffee. It's a small meal but we're a very small bunch.
Keeping my weight goals in mind I'll keep my portions conservative. Given I don't eat like this everyday I won't go nuts over a day off the eating plan.
Even though I was aiming towards low carb I've been wanting to try this meal. It is the Nutrisystem Spicy Kung Pao Noodles. I'm not a big noodle eater but it sounded interesting. It comes in a little cardboard container. You have to remove the lid, remove the spice packet, add water, heat, cover and allow to sit.
The little bits you may be able to see are tiny pieces of peanuts. Overall the flavor was pretty good. The sauce still had a slightly gritty texture. The addition of some fresh vegetables would have been good.
I was knee-deep in a project again today so I missed my snack. I did get another walk in around 4:00pm. By then I worked up an appetite. Dinner will come none too soon.
I had one of my Nutrisystem standards the Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast. This really is one of the better tasting entrees although I always think it looks like a baked potato on the plate. I served it with simple steamed flowering broccoli which is a type of broccolini.
I was still a little hungry so about a half hour after dinner I had the Nutrisystem Sweet and Salty Snack Mix. This is more fat and protein than carbs.
This was a non-eventful diet day. I almost hit 11k, 500 steps short. I drank all but 4 ounces of my water for the day. I'll let you know tomorrow if the scale budged. Have a great week!
