Total Calories: 2040 (uh oh)
Water Intake: 58oz
Weight Loss: -.4 (-19.6 lbs loss total to date)
I barely trust the scale. Looks good today.
I had a typical pre-workout breakfast. I heated the Nutrisystem Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffin and plopped about 1/2 cup of yogurt in a dish to serve alongside. I tidied up my dish and trotted off to the gym. I didn't think I'd ever be one of those people would write "I trotted off to the gym" haha!
I ordered more of my Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream protein drink mix over a week ago but it still has not arrived. It is so packed with protein and vitamins I feel it's a much healthier snack and I'm looking forward to having it back in my diet. Meanwhile I sliced up some pretty yellow bell pepper and served it with a little of the Bolthouse Greek Yogurt Blue Cheese Dressing. I also tossed a slice of extra lean thin sliced ham on the plate for good measure.
I had an appointment about 11:30 and a lunch planned with an old friend about 12:30. After perusing the menu for a few minutes (mostly high calorie stuff) I decided to stick to a simple side salad. It eventually showed up and it was small but fresh. Lunch took longer than I thought so I was already getting hungry again by the time we left the restaurant.
I skipped the afternoon snack; well you'll learn why in a minute.
I should have known better than to let myself get so hungry particularly after watching others at my table eat real food. I was felling hungry and possessed and I really, really wanted fried chicken. I didn't need to eat a lot of it but I just had to have it. I had an errand to run (well, we walked) then we headed over to a local spot that still didn't open for regular dining until after 5:00. We gave it a shot anyway and walked in and asked how early we could order fried chicken. The waiter went over for a pow wow with the chef. He came back with great news. He told us to have a seat and it would take about half hour. That was fine with me, I didn't have any further plans for the day.
Fear not I did not eat it all (although I sure could have). I ate the chicken leg (background) and a slice of the breast portion. It was crispy, moist inside and not greasy in the least. This is not your fast food fried chicken this is REAL fried chicken. I had two small bites of the beans which were good (I love beans) but left the rest. I had them pack up the uneaten portion and brought it home for my husband to polish off at another time.
Now, had I stopped there, it would not have been too bad. Instead, a nut bar sounded so good I had to have one. I had the Kirkland Nut Bar which is almost identical to the Nutrisystem Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Nut Bar.
Somewhere around 7:00, because I ate so early I was feeling snacky. I had just purchased some raw cashews earlier in the day and decided to have about 1 ounce of those. I did finally feel like I had more than enough to eat and I stopped there wit the exception of drinking a couple more glasses of water.
Well, this was my first day in 91 days where I had a fairly major stray from my menu plan. All in all it was healthy stuff but just way more than I needed. I'm going to try to remain calm and get back on track tomorrow. Right before my 7pm snack attack I did go out to my treadmill and exercise for about 17 minutes to finish up my 11k steps for the day. All was not lost. I'm not sure I'll have the courage to weigh in the morning but I'll let you know how it goes then.
