My weight dropped by 2 tenths of a pound. Progress! I'm still contemplating something drastic like a fast day perhaps.
I'm still plowing through my Nutrisystem "sugary" breakfasts. I heated the Nutrisystem Homestyle Pancakes and scrambled yet another egg.
I took a walk, almost my full normal walk, shy 1/2 block. I ended up with about 7k steps and an appetite! I went for my current "usual" which is one slice of Dave's Killer skinny bread and 3/4 ounce of Toscano salami. It hit the spot.
We're having another rather mucky looking day so something warm sounded good. This is another repeat, the Nutrisystem White Bean and Chicken Chili. It was thick, spicy and pretty tasty. I did notice this time around that the bits of dry, chewy chicken are just a distraction. They could easily leave that out because I doubt those bits are enhancing the flavor. Just my thoughts.
I tried a "new" snack today. Its the Nutrisystem Zesty Pizza Snack-A-Rounds. These snacks are about the size of mini-shredded wheat. If you're into that kind of snack thing I think the flavor is pretty zippy. Supposedly the snacks are "cheese filled" but somehow that was lost on me. My allergies are kicking up a lot lately so my "taster" may be a little out of whack. I just ate a few of these to test then I had 2 slices of thin ham (50 calories total) with mustard.
My commitment with this blog was to try as many different Nutrisystem foods as I could even if they don't seem appealing to me. I also try to present them in the best possible way. With that commitment in mind I finally tried the Nutrisystem Lasagna with Meat Sauce. This is an "MRE" shelf stable meal. It would have tasted better if I didn't have to look at it. This is a quote from my husband:
They really murder pasta.
That said the flavor was not offensive but the pasta was so limp like it was overcooked by 4 hours. Aside from that it was filling but I'm glad I had a lot of salad to eat. As you can see by the image of the box below, my entree bore no resemblance to the lasagna pictured.
I wanted to keep my calories down so I pawed around my basket of snacks and found a bag of the Nutrisystem Sweet and Salty Snack Mix. These are always tasty and satisfy my salty-crunchy addiction.
It was interesting to try a couple new foods today. I would not order the lasagna again for sure. The little snacks were flavorful but they fall in the "junk food" category for me. Let's see what the scale says tomorrow. I'll report back then.
