Yesterday was such a tough one I didn't weigh because I'm just not in the mood for more bad news. I know, that's a defeatist attitude. I'll buck up!
I had a strange breakfast this morning which included Nutrisystem Biscotti Bites (chocolate and plain) and a half of a cup of Fage 2% Greek Yogurt. I opened both packages of bites because I wanted to taste them. I only ate the equivalent of 1 bag total. If you are inclined to eat cookies for breakfast I thought the plain one tasted pretty good. I really like the crunch. The chocolate was OK too but I don't go in for chocolate biscotti, I'm more of a purist.
This was not my ideal pre-workout breakfast but it sufficed.
When I got done with my workout I had things to tend to in an effort to unravel some of the events of yesterday. As usual it took 3 times what I planned so I missed my morning snack. When I completed all I could do for the today to gain control of my life I hit the road. We took a drive to the beach for a quick lunch. I had my usual half of a sandwich eating only half of the half of the bread.
After lunch we took a medium walk that includes a gigantic staircase. Locals use this for their workout by jogging up and down, back and forth. If I lug my sorry carcass up and back one time I view it as a success.
Once I made it back home I dove in to get more chores taken care of so I slacked off my snack regime once again.
We decided to walk a couple of blocks to a local spot for some appetizers that might suffice as dinner. I rarely have luck finding healthy options but I lucked out today! There was an offering for fresh house-made gazpacho which came with 3 medium sized boiled shrimp. This was perfect! The dish was a small portion but really hit the spot. I knew I'd have a snack later when I got home.
Boy am I in a dessert rut. I had the Kirkland Nut Bar, again. I can't think of a better combination than dark chocolate and nuts.
With my staircase/beach walk and my walk to dinner walk I was still short some steps. I hopped on the treadmill for 15 minutes at about 3.4 mph. I hit the 11k mark and left the treadmill pleased with myself. I made the best of a couple of bad days. All is well. Tomorrow is Saturday and I look forward to my weigh-in.
