I couldn't help myself, I had to see how much damage was done. Could have been worse. I'll atone for my sins today.
Today I decided to have my Fage 2% Greek Yogurt with the Nutrisystem Granola Cereal. I really like this combination and I only have to dirty a bowl and a spoon. Well, and a measuring cup. I confess I measure many of the foods I eat because I don't trust my measuring eye. After breakfast I was off to the gym. I worked out for an hour but I still didn't make it through a complete set of the 2 sets of exercise. Nevertheless I called it a day. I took a short walk after and I'll get out later today too (I hope). The weather is nice.
I was a little hungry after my workout and walk so I decided on a slice of my Dave's Killer Powerseed Bread and a slice of Kirkwood Signature Ham. I probably eat too many meats with nitrites. I topped the slice with a little mustard.
I'm going by the book today for lunch. I had a Nutrisystem Pepperoni Pizza melt. I sliced some jicama and some red bell peppers and served myself about 2 tablespoons of my Bolthouse Greek Yogurt Blue cheese dressing for dunking. I really love jicama but I forget to buy it. It's nice and sweet and crunchy.
I had 3/4 of an oz of my Toscano salami (about 3 slices) and I ate 8 of the Nutrisystem Creamy Ranch Snack-a-rounds. This is the first time I tried this version. They are crunchy and salty with a pleasant but slightly nondescript flavor. I'd buy these again. I only ate half the bag along with my salami.
I'm making the Nutrisystem Chicken Enchilada again. I haven't had it in a few weeks. I wished it tasted more like an enchilada but at least the spices are different from the more "Italian" style meals. This meal ended up being strange in that I heated 2 dinners and one of the two the masa was just a "pool" instead of being the tortilla. It was very odd. I served them on a pretty Mexican plate to give it a more authentic feel. I even added a few shreds of cheddar cheese and a little hot chipotle sauce. It was at least filling. I added the last of my salad greens with the requisite dressing.
By the way my husband reported that this was worst Nutrisystem meal he's had and he's usually pretty cool about them. He got the one with the masa pool.
I retreated to my current favorite the Kirkland Nut Bar. I love the protein content and it just plain tastes good.
I tried to keep a low profile today and stay "by the book" (pretty much) with meals; nothing too "flex". I got all my steps in and my workout so that's always a good day. I'll see on the scale tomorrow if I made up for yesterday's culinary indiscretion. Meanwhile, chow down and keep it healthy!
