Cool, did better than I thought. I'm ALMOST down 18lbs. This is really amazing I have to say. I was trying to isolate why this seems "easy". It's less time consuming in many ways although I still take time for preparation and manage to explode the kitchen. I think one of the key things is that I eat dishes that are more complex (although processed) than I typically take time to make. For example. My simple Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast last night. Now I might normally grill a piece of chicken, and make the salad and steam or roast the vegetable but I most likely would have not prepared stuffing and made a stuffed chicken breast. My meals tend to be very fresh but not complex on most days so may be less varied, flavor wise. Whatever it is, I'm not complaining.
I have an early appointment and I don't want to eat or drink a lot before. I decided to try the Nutrisytem Blueberry Muffin (a shelf stable product) again. I also scrambled a quick egg. The muffin was sort of "meh" but then you probably know by now how I feel about sweets for breakfast. The egg was good. I miss my fresh tomatoes already.
I got out the house, off to my appointment then had to drive to San Francisco to pick up something for a customer. I didn't get back to the office until well after noon.
I was on the road at snack time so I stopped for a coffee at Starbucks and had them add a splash of cream (not milk). I counted those calories as my morning snack.
Finally back home I was really hungry so I made lunch seconds after walking in the door. It's already past 1:00 and I don't have yesterday's blog out and I have barely walked. I quickly threw together a Nutrisystem Grilled chicken Sandwich along with a small field greens salad adding my usual olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper.
I was still jamming at snack time so I skipped it all together (mistake).
It's approaching dinner time, I'm really hungry and haven't walked yet. I took off for a walk and made a last minute decision to try some chicken at a new place in town so I only walked maybe 30-35 minutes. The good news is I only ate 1 chicken thigh, had a small bite to taste the breast and the leg. But those calories really rack up. I estimated my total calories for the day at less than 1200 but it could be even higher, I'm not sure. We also sampled the deviled eggs. I had one of those which I personally didn't care for. The chicken was OK but a little greasier than it should have been. Neither food was really worth the calories but at least now I know I can knock them off my list of places to go. I didn't eat that other "stuff" on the plate. I tasted one French fry dipped in the gravy and it definitely was not worth the calories.
Even though I know dinner was not a great move I went ahead and had a small snack, the Nutrisystem Sweet and Salty Snack. It was the lowest carbs of all their snacks. Feeling ever so guilty I went to the treadmill and punished myself for about 15 minutes. I still didn't even make 10k for the day.
This was not one of my better diet days but I'll get over it. I probably won't weigh tomorrow just so I don't beat myself up over it. Tomorrow is work out day so that should help. Meanwhile, ciao for now and go eat something healthy!
