I felt cowardly so I didn't weigh this morning. The last couple days felt kind of nutritionally sketchy. I guess it was probably not that bad but the odd foods and meal times combined with the lack of exercise I felt a little off track.
So I'm back on track this morning with the Nutrisystem Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffin and a glass of V8 (low sodium) and my usual 2 or so cups of coffee. After breakfast I took a good walk, my usual of about just shy of an hour, about 8k steps.
I'm trying to stay back on track so I prepped and drank another Nutrisystem Nutricrush Shake (1/2). This is less attractive as the days grow cooler. I'm going to need a new "go-to" morning snack.
Being lazy and hungry I grabbed a Nutrisystem Hamburger out of the freezer, nuked it in the microwave, toasted it a couple of minutes in the mini-convection and served it with some bare bones accompaniments from the frig and garden. I picked what I think is the very last ripe tomato. There are a few mini plum tomatoes out there, that's about it. I did add a teaspoon of Entube Harrisa Chili Paste to the burger. I have mixed it with mayo before and that is better; it's a little strong straight out of the tube. I did find one purple bell pepper so I had that with about 1 tablespoon of the Bolthouse Greek Yogurt blue cheese dressing.
I was low on energy and creativity so I just plopped a half of a cup of low fat cottage cheese in a bowl. I contemplated walking out to the garden and snipping some of my chives but I was even too lazy for that. I did grab the pepper mill and added a couple grindings of pepper.
Before dinner I headed out for one more walk so I could get my 11k steps in for the day. I didn't have to walk very long or far, maybe 15 minutes or so. By the time I got back I was good and hungry. I had fresh fish in the refrigerator I purchased at Costco yesterday so I had to eat it today. I did not do a great job of cooking it. I don't know if my pan was too hot or not hot enough but I didn't get that nice browning. I could use some fish-prep cooking lessons. It was cooked perfectly, not overcooked or under cooked but it just didn't look pretty. I was going to have a roasted sweet potato but I took it out of the pantry to find it was half rotten. I skipped it and made a batch of yellow squash. Not a real spectacular meal but the fresh fish was nice. I do love wild-caught Halibut. I added some chopped garlic to the squash and a squeeze of lemon atop the fish.
Tonight I served myself the Nutrisystem Chocolate Cupcake. I was thinking these might be fun to doll-up for Halloween. Meanwhile I just enjoyed one chocolaty bite at a time.
I feel quite a bit more on track today. I would not have had a "Flex meal" for dinner had I not purchased the fresh fish. We're only supposed to have one flex dinner and one flex lunch per week and I've exceeded that. How bad can eating nice portions of healthy, fresh food be? Well, I guess the scale will tell me tomorrow. Here's hoping you have healthy food on your plate tonight!
