Saturday October 15, 2016 Total Steps: 11,244 Total Calories: 1142 calories Water Intake: 64 oz Weight Loss: -.7 (-13.6 lbs loss total to date)
Ah, now that's the direction I like to see my scale heading! So close to 14 lbs but not there yet. And 14 is close to 15! Yes, I'm getting carried away. I wonder if drinking all that water yesterday helped? I'll try to be on my best behavior today and get all 64 ounces down.
My next food shipment is sometime next week but I seem to be awfully low on food. I'm not sure why I'm running out sooner than I should. Anyway one of my last shelf-stable foods for breakfast I have in stock is the Nutrisystem Cinnamon Streusel Muffin. I scrambled an egg to go with it and gave myself a 4 ounce pour of V8 Juice (low sodium). This should be enough to get me through to snack time.
I managed to totally skip my morning snack today. I did head out for a walk to town and back so I got some steps in.
Lunch today was the Nutrisystem Hamburger. I took the time to compare the calories in the Nutrisystem burger vs my favorite fast food burger from In and Out Burger. I usually buy the normal human-sized cheeseburger so they are about double the calories of the Nutrisystem burger. If I want one of those burgers in the future I'll have to settle for half a burger, which is fine with me. I'll just drink a lot of iced tea with it.
My burger was pretty plain today. I just added Grey Poupon mustard, tomato slice and some red onion. I also had some purple bell pepper from the garden I sliced.
I switched up my bread and this time tried Dave's Killer Organic BigSeed bread. It fixed the one thing I didn't like about the other version which is it reduced the sugar. Bread should not taste like cake! Each slice of this is only 60 calories. I had the slice with my usual Toscano salami , 1/2 ounce.
I decided to try a Nutrisystem Pizza Hack. I took a basic Nutrisystem Margherita Pizza (which is really basic) and added a lot of good stuff too it. I added chopped red bell pepper, chopped yellow onion, chopped Canadian bacon (ham) and chopped fresh mushrooms. Additionally I added 1/4 ounce of freshly grated Parmesan cheese about 5 minutes before baking was completed. This added about 50 calories to the basic pizza which is 260 calories. I also added some red pepper flakes after it was baked. This made one lip-smakin' good dinner! Next time I'll try to add anchovies; I LOVE anchovies.
Here are the pizzas before I added anything to them. It's mostly chopped tomato on top.
Here are the pizzas with everything added except the Parmesan and red pepper flakes.
I've eaten most of my frozen desserts so I'm trying the Nutrisystem Chocolate Sandwich Cookies. I think I had these once while I was out of town but I didn't photograph or review them. I have not eaten an Oreo cookie in years but these are pretty close to what I remember eating. They'd have been nice with a glass of milk (for old times sake) but I had water instead. I'd buy them again if I wanted something with some chocolate flavor and of course they are portable which is good.
After dinner and cookies I relaxed awhile then went off for a trip on the treadmill. I walked at a good clip (3mph - 3.5mph) for over 20 minutes. With my other walks of the day I clocked in at over my 11k goal. Three cheers for me!
Additionally, I drank all 64 ounces of water again today. I think it helps keep you feeling full. As much as I object to our U.S. obsession with over-hydration I think the extra water does help the weight-loss cause. For the life of me I still don't understand why people think they need to bring a water bottle to the mall. It's not like you're venturing into the Sahara Desert for Lords sake. I doubt you'll die of thirst from your car to the food court. I'm sorry for the rant and I do apologize in advance if any of you fall into this demographic.
So all-in-all a good day. We are experiencing that rare meteorological event called "rain" here in California so most of my walks will be indoors for now. It's unlikely rain will continue for long, we should be so lucky. It's good to have my trusty treadmill to fall back on. Just 1/10 more of a pound and I'll see -14 on my progress report. Can't wait!
