Thursday October 13, 2016 Total Steps: 11,373 Total Calories: 1212 calories Weight Loss: - (-13 lbs loss total to date) didn't weigh
I skipped a weigh-in today. I'll catch up tomorrow. I'm going to go for at least 10k steps today given I don't work out. I'm trying to gradually work back up for my 11k per day goal.
I ate breakfast in stages today. First I had the Nutrisystem Buttermilk Waffles. Later I had about 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese, and after that I had 2 slices of Canadian bacon (ham). The waffles alone looked a little bleak.
I had a little less than an ounce of Toscano salami for a snack. It's time to grocery shop again.
My melt inventory is melting away (pun intended). I grabbed a Nutrisystem Chicken Fajita Melt. This is the second time I've had this melt and it still gets a "not bad" report from me. It's easy to get bored of these entrees. I just keep looking at it as a means to an end. The end being a "healthy weight". I sliced up a big plate of tomatoes to enjoy with my melt.
I have no idea why I had a sweet tooth today but I have. I'm out of protein shakes and even other "Powerfuels" so the "naughty me" chose a Nutrisystem Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Nut Bar. It was 200 calories of bliss.. haha!
This meal is one I've been avoiding since I tried it the first time. I'm referring to the Nutrisystem Penne Bolognese with Meat Sauce, an MRE meal. I knew what I was in for this time so I found a little nubbin of Parmesan in the frig and grated a bit on top of my sad bowl of limp penne. I also sprinkled some red pepper flakes atop for good measure. I have to say my additions did improve the taste but nothing can make up for that thick, thick, sauce and that pasty pasta.
I still have a lug of tomatoes out there on the vine so I sliced yet another for dinner.
Wow, I'm just going to finish up the day with more badness. I've been wanting to try the Nutrisystem Golden Pound Cake. Right before starting this program I made the first two (from scratch) pound cakes I've ever made. Even the 2nd one I liked least was very good. Now clearly I did not expect this to live up to the flavor of those cakes. I would not buy this again but if you like "cakes" and want a low cal version this is not bad. The texture is overly-dense and a little dry but really not bad. I suggest having your cake with your warm beverage of choice such as coffee or tea.
This is the whole little pound cake. I only ate half with a few black berries.
In the spirit of full disclosure I did not stop there. I was hungry again later so I had another Nutrisystem Ice Cream Sandwich. It must have been all the exercise I had yesterday (good excuse?). I plead temporary insanity. I'm sure I'll pay for it on the scale tomorrow. Although my total calories for the day was barely over 1200, not bad.
I did get a fair amount of exercise including a couple of good walks, some yard work and a short walk on the treadmill after dinner. This is my rationale for eating poorly. Tomorrow is another work out so I'll try to make up for it. I'll let you know tomorrow brings.
