Saturday October 1, 2016 Total Steps For Day: 6668 (walking only) Total Calories: 1075 calories Weight Loss: -.1 (-11.4 lbs loss total to date)
I'm vowing to behave today and keep my walking to a minimum. Wow, is this boring as heck! I am down another tenth of a pound but at this rate it will take 10 days to get down to my 12lb loss. It's a magic number for me because I set that as my "treat" goal. My treat will be to get a new outfit for work out day. Which given I can't work out for awhile seems less of an incentive than it was a week ago. It will still be fun.
I trying to use my shelf-stable breakfast items so I decided I'd make a bagel-wich. I heated the Nutrisystem Honey Wheat Bagel then topped it with 1/2 of a scrambled egg and 1 slice of browned Canadian Bacon (ham). It tastes OK but the sweetness of this bagel was overwhelming. I do wish they had a plain bagel. Sure, I can buy plain bagels at the shop in town but the size is massive in comparison. Today's bagels have been supersized like so many foods these days. The original water bagels were small, probably a 3-4 of ounces but today they are at least 6 to 8 ounces or more which to me is insane.
Here I go again, skipping snacks. I was out getting some shopping done, good excuse?
I had that nice grilled chicken breast in the refrigerator. I just sliced up 2 ounces of it and had it with some Dave's Killer skinny bread. I threw a few red cherry tomatoes on the plate for good measure. It looked rather skimpy but was surprisingly filling.
I'm being a good little soldier and drinking my protein shake for my snack. Whatever is going on with my back, protein will probably be an asset.
Something new tonight -- the Nutrisystem Chicken and Vegetable Stir-Fry. This dish was sadly underwhelming. I was hoping for recognizable bits of vegetables and I assumed the chicken would be of the more processed sort. Instead the vegetables, with the exception of edamame (soy beans) were chopped and developed into a mush with the noodles. The sauce had little of any flavor. Trying to do Asian inspired foods with no salt or sugar can be challenging for sure. I would not buy this again but if it were to show up in my freezer for some reason I'd certainly add some water chestnuts or bamboo shoots so there would at least be some texture.
Sadly I did not have a lot to offer fresh vegetable-wise. I could have done another eggplant but I was not in the mood so I took the least path of resistance and sliced another nice ripe tomato. I slathered it with some Balsamic vinegar and seasoned it with kosher salt and pepper. This was the most flavorful part of the meal.
I was still a little hungry so the Nutrisystem Chocolate Brownie Sundae hit the spot. I chopped one little raw almond an sprinkled that on top for some crunch.
Until I get this back thing under control I expect my meals will continue to be drab and minimalist. I just need to eat often enough to avoid any cravings. My exercise limitations are just a fact of life for now so I'll continue to deal with it. Tomorrow is a new day, looking forward to looking forward!
