Thursday September 29, 2016 Total Steps For Day: 6875 (walking only) Total Calories: 1230 calories Weight Loss: -.5 (-10.9 lbs loss total to date)
I'm surprised with my lack of exercise I'm doing as well as I am. Food-wise I'm sticking with the program so clearly it works! I am checking out what's going on with my back so hopefully I can get beyond that and get back to my work outs. Right now anything more than 30 minutes walking is not doable.
I just had a quick scrambled egg with a Nutrisystem Cinnamon Streusel Muffin. I warmed the muffin about 15 seconds in the microwave and cooked the eggs in my trustee cast iron frying pan. Given my abundance of tomatoes I added a few of those for good measure. I chugged down my usual couple of cups of black coffee.
I skipped my usual snack today for no good reason other than I didn't get around to it.
I ended up having an appointment so I had to make a quick lunch. I had the Nutrisystem Hamburger with Dijon mustard and lettuce. I sliced up some fresh bell pepper and added that to some little tomatoes and dipped both in about 1 tablespoon of my yogurt blue cheese dressing.
None of these images would set the culinary world on fire but you can get the idea of proper portion sizes.
Given I skipped my morning snack I thought some basic protein (powerfuel) was in order so I had 1 ounce of raw almonds. I'm a major fan of almonds in fact, prior to this eating plan I probably ate them too often. They're mightily healthy but they pack in a lot of calories in a small amount. In fact that ounce is 163 calories, 3 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. That's pretty impressive!
I was in the mood for a "flex meal" tonight and I have not had fresh chicken in quite some time time. I grilled some chicken breasts with my usual salt, pepper and granulated garlic. I can have 4 ounces but I wanted extra to slice or shred, bag and freeze for future use. I also decided on a sweet potato and I wanted to use up my fresh arugula.
I did add 1 tablespoon of REAL butter on my potato. It's worth the splurge. I don't eat artificial butter so it's the real deal or nothing.
I was reluctant to eat a dessert given my lack of exercise this whole week but it sounded good. I had my current favorite, the Nutrisystem Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Nut Bar. These little guys are almost addictive. I ate slowly and enjoyed it to the last crumb.
Another sedentary day to report. I just got a couple of short walks in. Anything more would probably be counter productive in the long haul. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a better idea what the back issue is. It was really wonderful having a fresh cooked meal. I have to say having the rest of the grilled chicken sitting there was very tempting. However the meal was so filling I really did not want more to eat. I'll check in again tomorrow! You all have a healthy, happy day!
