Tuesday September 20, 2016 Total Steps For Day: 12,492 (a couple of walks) Total Calories: 983 calories Weight Loss: -.6 lbs (-8.7 lbs loss total to date. Fat % down .7%)
I still didn't make my 10lb weight loss goal but still not bad for 32 days. I'm averaging close to 2 lbs a week. I'll get there, slow but sure. The important thing is that I keep moving in the right direction. Speaking of moving, I got my first walk in fairly early this morning, about 6000 steps. I'll do a 2nd walk later to finish up my minimum 11k.
I'm officially out of Nutrisystem breakfast items so I winged it this morning. I made a scrambled egg with a little scallion and browned a couple of pieces of Canadian Bacon. I balanced out the meal with some fresh sliced tomatoes.
Today's snack was my usual Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream protein shake. I love having an easy, filling snack.
This is one of my last Nutrisystem lunches until my next shipment arrives. It's the Nutrisystem Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This is still a winner for me. I was short of time so it was a real slung-together meal. Just the sandwich and some sliced tomato. You know what is really delicious? Chop tomatoes, raw garlic, basil and add salt and pepper, and let that sit for a few minutes. Then load that on your hamburger or chicken burger and wow, you'll get a mouthful of garlicy flavor! I'll try that tomorrow if I have time and have anything left to pile it on.
This was a very simple snack. My theme today is grabbing whatever is handy and eating it! I just don't have time for fancy today. The plate below shows 2 servings, each included 1 1/2 ounces of Diestal Organic Turkey Breast (no salt) and fresh sliced tomatoes. It was flavorful and hit the spot.
My dinner entree choices have almost run out. Tonight I had the Nutrisystem Black Bean and Chicken Enchilada with White Meat Chicken. I steamed some fresh squash and sliced a purple bell pepper for color and crunch. I don't care for this dish. This is the first time I didn't finish my entree. I ate most of of it but the filling is mushy; I don't do mushy food as a rule. The chicken has a processed texture but I did eat that. My squash was really good. I just steamed that with some red onion. I'll always munch on raw bell peppers.
Being a fan of the Nutrisystem Chocolate Cupcake (the frozen version) I selected it for my dessert this evening. I like to let it sit out for about 30 minutes. I needed one more walk for the day so I took a walk around the neighborhood and completed my 11K plus steps for the day. That cupcake tasted great after I got home. It's funny but I'm eating way more sweets on Nutrisystem then I ever did before. I'm used to having something after dinner now; I'm enjoying that.
I still feel like I had to rush around all day and I'm sure this shows via my lack of imagination at meal times. It's going to be real interesting tomorrow when I have to start winging it for a few days. I'm not sure how my order got so far off but it looks like I'm out of Nutrisystem foods until Monday or later. I guess it will be a good test of my cooking and portion skills until then. Should be a fun next few days!
