Saturday, September 17, 2016 Total Steps For Day: 12,376 (walks) Total Calories: 1008 Weight Loss: Didn't weigh arrived home mid-day
I decided not to weigh. I always weigh immediately after waking up. I rose very early for a very early flight but didn't get home until early afternoon. I'll put off weighing one more day although the suspense is killing me!
I had one last Nutrisystem Honey Wheat Bagel so I scarfed that down while charging my iPhone at one of those airport charging stations. As for the bagel flavor, like many of Nutrisystem's other foods I found it to be pretty sweet for a bagel. Overall I thought it tasted pretty good. I've never had access to light cream cheese on the road but it might be nice to slather a little of that on top for your protein.
Snack time hit while on the plane but I still had a bag of my trustee raw cashew nuts so I plowed down 18 of those babies with my ice water. There was an offering of some sort of salty snack but I gracefully declined.
I'm getting down to dribbles and drabbles of foods left in the freezer. My next shipment is due next week. I decided to go all smorgasbord and split two of my remaining Nutrisystem melts. I had half of a Steak and Cheese Melt and half of a Southwest Fiesta Melt. I have many nice ripe tomatoes in the garden now so I just grabbed one off the vine, sliced it, then drizzled it with a couple teaspoons of the Greek Yogurt Blue Cheese Dressing.
I was feeling protein-shake deprived so I drug out my hulk of a blender and whipped up my usual Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream shake. Yep, I still love them. Oh, I have been meaning to share the nutrient breakdown with you, so here it is.
I actually tried something new tonight the Nutrisystem Ravioli Formaggio, or cheese ravioli. I was reluctant to have this entree this evening because as it happened I had a ravioli appetizer (well, 2 raviolis) last night for dinner. They were probably, hands down, the best I've ever had. They were little handmade, ricotta filled pillows served with a brown butter. I could have eaten 20 of them! Sorry for that tangent. So back to Nutrisystem food these ravioli tasted very similar to the Nutrisystem Stuffed Shells. The pasta remained aldente and the sauce was flavorful and plentiful. If you like red sauce, which I do then you'll probably enjoy this entree.
I came back to an eggplant plant, loaded with ripe eggplant. So forgive me ahead of time for boring you with another baked eggplant image. The side dish may lack imagination but makes up for it with simplicity and flavor. I have also vowed to use all my fresh vegetables this year and not let anything go to waste. I'm sure you're all pleased to know the cucumber vines are done, so no more cukes on my plate!
I only added some of the sauce to the plate before I took this picture. Typically the ravioli are swimming in sauce. There was enough to spoon over the baked eggplant.
I'm quickly running out of food but still have stock of the Nutrisystem Ice Cream Sandwich. This remains one of my favorite dessert options I think because it closely resembles the flavor of the typical grocery store version.
I love to travel but it's always nice to come home. Of course I'm faced with a myriad of chores both household and business. I'm taking time to appreciate my physical progress which is a big part of the reason for embarking on this exercise and eating plan. I'm hoping it equates to a good report card come next Dr. visit which is next month.
