Total Steps For Day: 13,813 (work out + walk) Total Calories: 1082 Weight Loss: -0 (-4.5 lbs total for 14 days, body fat down -.1%)
Two diet weeks today! Yeah for me sticking with it! Today was another work out day and it went pretty well. I think he gives us less to do on Friday's or maybe I'm getting used to the exercises? Naw! I took a walk after for at least 30 minutes so by 10:30 a.m. I already clocked in over 7,000 steps. I'll pick up another walk later and maybe try my lonely treadmill again.
I elected to have the Nutrisystem Canadian Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Muffin again to keep my protein up. For my extra protein (Powerfuel) I had 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese. I sure wish those tomatoes were ripe; they'd provide that muffin sandwich with some fresh healthy carbs. I really love fresh tomatoes ONLY home grown. It is on rare occasion I can even detect a slight flavor from those grocery store tomatoes. With breakfast done I was off to my work out.
I was pretty tired after the workout and the walk. I opted again for the Dr. Keith's Chocolate Cream shake. It's so nice and refreshing and filling.
For the first time I tried the Nutrisystem Chicken Mozzarella Melt using the mix of microwave and convection ovens. For whatever reason the wrap was the best of any that I've tried. I like the whole grain flavor of the wrap and it didn't seem as dry as they tend to be. Perhaps it had to do with my cooking time. The filling has a couple of types of cheese and little chunks of white meat chicken along with a red Italian style sauce. Most of the red sauces used in the pasta, ravioli and several wraps taste very similar. I've added this entree to my "I'll order it again" list.
I served more cucumber spears and some carrot sticks alongside the wrap. I tossed back 8 ounces water and that completes another lunch.
This is the melt cut open. You can see there are visible pieces of chicken with a pretty flavorful red sauce. Well, I don't suppose you can see the flavor?
I have a fading-fast banana in the fruit bowl that I have to eat today. I sliced it and put it atop my fave; Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt. That's my Powerfuel and Smartcarb for the day. Even though the banana looked on-the-edge, it tasted perfect. I like the sweet banana in contrast to the slightly sour yogurt.
Although this entree did not get very good reviews I still wanted to taste it for myself. So, tonight dinner is the Nutrisystem Sweet And Sour Chicken entree. Because I really hate to waste things I've grown I really needed to use that pretty eggplant I picked the other day. So, even though it's not the best side for this dish, I'm using it anyway.
This could have been one of Nutrisystem's better entrees but it totally lost it with the most incredibly processed chicken chunks I've ever tasted. This chicken bore no resemblance to any chicken I've ever eaten. The texture was slimy on the outside with a spongy texture. In contrast to that the rest of the dish was quite good! The flavor of the sauce was delicate and the flavor of the pineapple came through. The red and green peppers were nice and the carrot added a nice color contrast. Even the brown rice was not mushy, just nice firm grains. But oh Lord, that chicken was really not good. YES, I did eat it (lots of exercise today) but wow. Nutrisystem should either upgrade that chicken or just leave it out. Let it be a vegetarian meal or perhaps add tofu?
Those cubes that look like tofu are the "chicken". But don't the carrots and green and red peppers look appealing?
This eggplant is named Listada di Gandia and it's just so beautiful it's almost difficult to cut it up and bake it. But, I did.
I'll post this recipe for the eggplant. Its super simple to make and I only used a little bit of olive oil. It tasted divine! Now that I've tried this I'll bake eggplant and use it for eggplant Parmesan and it will save a lot of calories from my typical frying method.
Tonight's dessert is a repeat. I bought quite a few of the Nutrisystem Ice Cream Sandwiches so I need to keep using them. They are flavorful and satisfying so that's a nice topper to the evening meal.
It's frightening how quickly the two weeks went by. If you've been reading everyday you'll know that most of the foods were pretty darn decent. Adding in your fresh vegetables and extra proteins is a must just to keep satiated and to keep real fresh food in your diet. The Turbo10 promotion is about losing up to 10 lbs and 5 overall inches. I'll be close to that and I may or may not make the full 10 lbs but this is surely a painless way to do it.
I did just receive some news that I'm going to have a surprise trip coming up for a few days. This will be interesting to see if I can keep my focus. I won't go nuts and starve but my goal will be to not gain any weight. Although by experience I notice even when I travel and I'm fairly strict I may weigh more when I return. I think this is from the fact that food one eats out tends to have way more sodium. I'd normally drop back down in a day or 2.
On to day 15, see you then!
