Total Steps For Day: 12,591 (2-walks) Total Calories: 1114 Weight Loss: I didn't weigh
I did not have access to my scale this morning so I was unable to weigh. Probably all for the better. Even I get discouraged when my weight does not go down, even though I know I have to be losing weight (inches, more muscle, less fat). I'm quirky about scales. I only weigh on my own scale (and my Dr.'s scale). I just like the consistency. I actually own two scales, only because even though the one I had was pretty good I wanted the new digital scale that communicates with my Fitbit. The old scale shows me 2 lbs less than the new one (love that old scale, haha!). The new scale however is accurate with my Dr.'s office scale. Enough about scales, on to Day 11 update.
You can see below that the cinnamon roll comes in a nice little cardboard surround so that it does not get beat up in the package. With just a few exceptions the frozen foods have been in good shape, not broken up or mangled.
I was very happy with how I felt after yesterday's Dr Keith Scott-Mumby's Creamy Chocolate shake that I just repeated it again today. Most likely this is going to stay on the daily menu.
Given I concentrated on frozen entrees my lunch selection is narrow. Today I tried the Nutrisystem Four Cheese Melt. This is another wrap with a cheesy (in the dairy sense) filling with Italian seasonings. This time I microwaved the wrap, just short of the suggested time then crisped in my convection oven for a couple of minutes at 425F. By the way the microwaved version without crisping would not have been terrible but just softer than I'd like. I would eat this entree again.
After cooking you can see its "sort of" brown.
If you like the "gooey filling", you'll probably like this. It was a little like the insides of a cheese ravioli.
In the spirit of ease and consistency I had the same snack as yesterday, 18 (1 oz) of my favorite nut, the cashew. I'm sure i should be switching this up but for now it works for me. By the way one of the best places to buy these nuts is at Whole Foods in the bulk section. The quality is good and the price is competitive. You can purchase them in bags at Trader Joe's but, I don't. It's a personal thing. Trader Joe's rarely discloses where things come from. This annoys me. I'm not sure if Whole Foods shows where their bulk items are from but I still prefer their quality and general honesty in disclosing where their foods come from.
I selected this entree, Nutrisystem Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast because I had some fresh corn on the cob to use and this seemed like it would be good with the corn. I also steamed some fresh broccoli. I have to tell you I liked this meal! The chicken was a little dry, to be expected for a frozen meal. The filling had a nice fresh mushroom flavor. The dish has a very simple flavor. It tastes like you sauteed some mushrooms with yellow onion, maybe some fresh herbs and stuffed under a boneless skinless chicken breast. It didn't brown as much as I would have liked but I definitely would eat this again. It goes well with any fresh vegetables you'd like, green beans, sauteed carrots, broccoli, spinach, they would all taste good with the chicken.
There are two servings here, on the pan ready to go in the convection oven.
Here you can see the mushroom and onion filling. The package says "caramelized onion" but I didn't taste any caramelization. I still liked it.
My broccoli serving was a little meager but I also had that corn on the cob to eat so I didn't want to overeat.
Again, this is two servings, I had one cob. This is nice fresh Brentwood corn, always sweet and flavorful! This it the multicolor corn so there are little yellow and white corn kernels on each cob, fun!
Tonight I opted for the Nutrisystem Orange Cream Bar. Depending on your age you might remember 50/50 bars. This tasted just like that! It was only 90 calories but was smooth and creamy with an nice tang to the orange. This was a winner!
A very cute, refreshing 90 calorie dessert.
I'm always a little uneasy when I don't weigh. I know I'm exercising, I know I'm eating well. I have to just keep saying that to myself. It really is all you can do. If you find (if I find) after several days I'm not losing weight then I need to look to see what might be off. Like, not writing EVERYHING that I eat down (but I do) maybe not exercising enough? I know I'm exercising way more than I was before I started this regime. I look forward to seeing the results of my efforts.
