I'm about out of fruit. It's gym day so I added some Fage 2% Greek Yogurt to my bowl along with one envelope of Nutrisystem Granola Cereal. I had a near-dead banana so I sliced about 1/3 of it and added that alongside the cereal.
My stomach is doing better today but my head, not so much. My husband does the grocery shopping and a bag of BBQ potato chips seem to leap inside his shopping cart. I had chips for morning snack/lunch. Earlier to I had 2 cups of coffee with cream. Yeah, that's right, healthy living NOT.
Something I have to confess, right here, right now is that there are a few things you can NOT bring into my house unless you expect them to immediately disappear. One of those things is potato chips. I rarely buy them and I rarely eat them. When I do, I make it count. I don't eat one, I don't eat 6 or 12. I eat the WHOLE bag. Call it lack of discipline or whatever. I love them and I know to stay away from them. That said if they wind up in my house, I enjoy them. After my morning chip snack and my chips with lunch snack, the bag is empty, kaput, finito completo. Oh and I did have a half Swiss cheese sandwich on Dave's killer skinny bread, a little mayo and some slightly limp lettuce.
I guess the one good thing about consuming an entire bag of potato chips is that you do stay full for quite awhile. I didn't have another afternoon snack.
By the way, for you Nutrisystem dieters out there, they have a good BBQ chip-like snack called Smoky BBQ Snack-a-rounds. If you are prone to snack attacks these are really a decent alternative.
I wanted to atone for my potato chip sins so I thought a healthy dinner should do the trick. I roasted some skinless chicken thighs (I almost always buy bone-in skin-on thighs, remove the skin but roast bone-in). I think roasting with the bone-in provides a more flavorful piece of chicken. I also roasted a red potato. I added to that a simple arugula and avocado salad with the usual balsamic vinegar, olive oil and kosher salt.
Later in the evening I actually got a little hungry again (probably more boredom eating than hunger) and I appeased my hunger with a Nutrisystem Fudge Bar. I do like ice cream on a stick.
After dinner I did get one more walk in so I exceeded my 10k step goal which might help make up for the 2 days I was under goal this week. I'm looking forward to the weekend. I have more garden work planned. I hope you have some good plans too. I'll catch up with you tomorrow!
