I did something I don't typically do which was to have a somewhat "traditional American" breakfast. I ate hashed brown potatoes for the first time in ages. I'm not sure what spurred on this break from my typical healthy fare. So, my breakfast consisted on a large link of Linguica a yummy Portuguese treat. I also had eggs, over easy and some hash browns. I only eat the crispy part. Clearly I didn't eat all of this. I brought most of the sausage home, I did eat both eggs and a the crispy bits of potato only.
Wow, is this day a mess! I came home and later on had a cup of coffee with real cream. Then as I was vegging out I had 3 pieces of Hershey's Nuggets. Oh boy, this is not good.
At some point in the middle of the day I snacked on a piece of that leftover Linguica.
And I had yet another piece of Linguica and one stick of low fat string cheese.
After a fatty breakfast and numerous odd, fatty snacks I wanted a more healthful dinner. I grilled one small steak and served myself half. I had some fresh cucumber from the garden and I marinated it with some dill, low fat Greek yogurt and a little vinegar. I also baked a small potato and had half with a little butter, sour cream (yes, the real deal) and some fresh chives.
I at least had the decency to skip dessert.
I officially feel like I'm heading desperately off track. This happens from time to time. I'll do better tomorrow (hopefully). The upside is I did get a couple of really good walks in, over 12k steps. Hope you're all having a good weekend and eating better than I am!
