It was back to the gym morning. I was out of fruit so I had to do a truncated version of my gym-day breakfast. I had the Fage 2% Greek yogurt, granola but no berries. I headed out to the gym for my workout.
I took my usual short walk after gym. My stomach didn't feel great but I wanted some protein. I prepared my Nutrisystem Chocolate TuroShake but I only had a 1/4 portion. It was enough and as filling as I could handle.
I was hungry by lunch time. I had to use up the last of the leftover pizza as it was getting a little long in the tooth. I had a small slice of the "combination". I also fixed a salad with field greens, fresh cucumber and some little tomatoes dressed with olive oil, kosher salt and a dab of Gorgonzola.
I passed on an afternoon snack but I did want to try a few new things for dinner. I also got another walk in to insure my 10k+ step goal.
I mentioned yesterday that I subscribed to the Cook Light Diet, which essentially provides me with menus and recipes. I was hungry for dinner and I had made print outs of a few recipes I wanted to try. First was a filet mignon steak topped with a horseradish chive butter. To serve alongside I made polenta with onion and Manchego cheese (which was very good). I also made a green bean salad with a mustard sauce and toasted almonds. Everything was good but all the recipes (not the polenta) had a vinegar tart flavor which for me is something I like in very small doses.
Clearly with all that dinner, dessert was not even an option for me. I settled for a couple of glasses of cold water.
I wasn't sure I'd be up for my 10k step goal but I was pleased to have made it. My meals were nice and healthy, maybe not the pizza.. haha. Actually anything not totally junky is OK in small quantities.
