So I guess yesterday's meals were not quite as healthy as I thought. I started today out with my boring but healthy and easy to prep, granola, Fage 2% yogurt, blueberries and granola. I also added 1 tablespoon of cream to my coffee.
I took my usual short walk after gym and then fixed a Nutrisystem Chocolate TurboShake when I returned home.
A little later I was hungry and protein sounded good so I had a few leftover slices of steak.
I headed out for another walk so I could get my steps in while it's cool. It was about lunch time so I made a "steak salad". I'm a stickler about using up those leftovers. I used my usual field greens, little tomatoes from the garden and some scallions. And steak, of course the steak.
I skipped a snack but got another short walk in. It's a good thing I did because dinner was a whopper!
I'm trying to get a few meals in of things I've not had for months (or more). My husband has been requesting spaghetti so I broke down and made some good sauce (with meat and mushrooms and tomato sauce I made from our garden tomatoes). I just had one (slightly larger portion than I should have had) bowl with a sprinkling of fresh Parmesan cheese.
I had plenty to eat so I skipped a snack or dessert. I did have some iced sparkling water with lime. I had one more short walk after dinner.
Except for the portion size of dinner I did pretty well today. I'm eating some old favorites while I can. I'm keeping up with my exercise too which helps but it can't offset too many calories. I'm looking forward to Saturday. See you then!
