For health reasons I had to stop my "diet" regimes. For now I'm going to focus on eating reasonably healthy. I don't mind if I lose more weight but it's not my current goal. Today was kind of a "off day" food wise. I wanted to eat some things I enjoy eating while I still can. I headed for the beach early in the morning and had my favorite 1/2 sandwich (with one side of bread only). This is not a flattering picture but it really does taste good.
After my "breakfast" I headed out for a nice walk along the beach. I got a good start on my steps for the day, over 7k. I didn't bother with a snack.
I headed back home after the walk. When I got back I had the other half of my sandwich (minus 1/2 the bread again) and some field greens with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
For whatever reason I decided that washing windows in my office at about 3:00 in the afternoon was a terrific plan. I postponed a snack and decided to just have dinner as soon as I was done.
A steak sounded good so I BBQ'd a nice New York strip steak. I had some little patty pan squash which I steamed/sauteed. I made another salad with field greens, the usual oil and vinegar and a few little bits of Gorgonzola cheese and some of my volunteer grape tomatoes. It was getting later so my images are a little dark.
The meal was very filling, almost too filling. I had another short walk after dinner and when I came back, before bed I had about an ounce of cashew nuts.
My goal for the next few months is to maintain or lose some weight but mostly keep as healthy as I can. I picked up some pretty good eating habits after all the months on Nutrisystem and my short-but-sweet flirt with Slimming World. I eat very small portions now but I eat pretty much what I want. I try to focus on lean proteins, fresh vegetables and some fruit, usually berries. I eat some grains but not a ton of them. Tomorrow is gym day so I went to bed early to get some good sleep.
