If you happen to live in Southern California you can be one of the first to buy the new Impossible Burger. Starting today, September 20, 2019 you can find the no-meat, meat at Gelson's Markets. The markets are located in Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Valley Village, California. There are several other locations as well. Use their Find A Store tool to find a location near you. The new meat-alternative will retail for $8.99 a pound.
Impossible Foods announced yesterday that they would be releasing their bulk Impossible Burger to retailers in specified locations across the U.S. as of September 20, 2019.
The Impossible Burgers have been available at eating establishments from the high-end Ritz Carlton located at North Star near Lake Tahoe to your local Burger King fast-food joint.
I've been anxiously awaiting this announcement for the bulk product since I tried my first burger last year. I want to see how many recipes I can adapt to this plant-based alternative. I'm thinking tacos, tamale pie or even my next lasagna.
We'll keep you posted and let you know when the product hits the stores and where you can find it to start testing it out yourself. Meanwhile, you can read more about Impossible Burger here.
