South Beach Diet Recipes
Given everyone seems to be jumping on
the South Beach Diet bandwagon I think it's time for me to help dieters find the right
types of recipes to allow them to munch their way to health. Before we get to the

My Qualifications
First let me tell you I'm somewhat of an authority on diets and dieting. Well, the
qualifier here being, I've BEEN on just about every type of diet you've ever heard of.
To name a few...
Stillman
Atkins
Weight Watchers
Animal urine shots (not kidding)
Starvation (6 weeks total fast)
Beverly Hills Diet (I and II) and more..........
I also happen to have a university degree in Food Sciences and Nutrition but my valuable
experience comes from having tried all these crazy diets. I tried them all, I lost
weight on every single one of them (up to 40 lbs. at a time) and I've gained the weight
back, every time.
Wonder Why Are
Americans Overweight?
The real reason? Because we don't eat "because we are hungry". But if that's
getting too Dr. Phil for you, then here are three more tangible reasons: Meal
portion size, food quality (or lack thereof) and insufficient exercise. Put another
way:
Most of us eat 2 to 3 times
what we need in any given meal
Too many of us eat
pre-prepared, highly processed, fat, sodium, and chemical laden foods
We don't
"move" unless we have to
The Secret to Losing
Weight
Well, it's not really a secret and it is not in the least complex. It is the most basic
mathematics equation:
What I eat
(subtract) What I burn (sitting, eating, sleeping, exercising)
__________________
= Weight loss (or gain)
The Magic
There is none. There are no magic food combinations or formulas. If you intake more than
you output you will gain weight. Now if you want to believe that eating certain foods in a
certain order is going to help you trim down.. well whatever works. But at the end of the
day, if you are eating more than you burn, of anything, in any combination, in any order,
of any type of food, you WILL not lose weight.
Weight Loss Rules
Rule #1: If you eat more than you burn of ANYTHING including
"all the right South Beach Diet Foods" you will not lose weight.
Rule #2: If you see a "diet" as something you do
"temporarily" then your success will be equally as temporary. If you are
overweight now, follow the South Beach Diet 6 weeks, lose weight, then return to how you
used to eat (and exercise), you will return to your overweight condition (and most likely
gain even more). |
