Molinillo (moussoir) This is a fun and useful cooking tool. It is used to froth drinks such as Atole, and the chocolate version called Champurado. Each molinillo is individually made so each has its own characteristics and so no two are identical. Craftsmanship is home-style and rustic. This design is probably the most common style and extremely functional. Just rinse after each use. The wood will darken with age and use. If you prefer a molinillo that is more refined you may want to consider the molinillo fino.
