8/9/2006 We had the opportunity to
try out restaurant James Randall for dinner. Dinner was
excellent as was the service and general ambiance. I had a
pork chop with a maple au jus and fabulous Parmesan mashed potatoes.
They also offered a vegetarian tamale for those wanting a meatless
entree. My guest enjoyed the lamb shank with root vegetables.
We have now eaten there twice and both experiences were very good.
We highly recommend this restaurant. |

We had lunch at Nick's. The interior is very comfortable
"European Style" small tables, close together. Simple, elegant
interior. The food was quite good. I had a beet salad with
shaved fennel, goat cheese, and crab with a blood orange
vinaigrette. It was very good. Salads and most entrées
about $17.00 each. |

Vittoria Ristorante Italiano
We gave this new Sicilian style restaurant a try around June
15th. Great atmosphere -- they did a very nice job on
the interior. My favorite course was the salad which was
terrific. We found the risotto very good although my porcini
pasta seemed just a little under-seasoned. Now for the
bad news. The restaurant is extremely noisy but the front is better
than the back. Our reservation was "lost" so we were placed in the
back room. Sadly this really detracted from the creative menu
and and good service. We did not stay for dessert, our only
desire was to get out while we still had any hearing. If you don't mind, or even enjoy loud atmospheres then
the sound might be an issue for you. That being said I recommend you don't
go with anyone you want to have a conversation with. If the
only seating they have available is in the back room, I'd reschedule
for another time. |

8/9/2006 We have not tried dinner yet
but we had a very good breakfast. The interior is quite nice with
table cloths and cloth napkins. This is a very nice place for a
quiet elegant (but not overly so) breakfast. The service was
efficient and the food very fresh and well prepared. The portions
were large so I was able to take some leftovers home. We are
anxious to try lunch and dinner. |
