According to the Los Gatos Times, the owner's of the San Francisco Presidio Social Club will be opening a new restaurant in the former location of California Cafe in Old Town. It will be in the same spirit as the Presidio club and will feature steaks, chops, seafood and salads. So far the restaurant has not been given a name.
The anticipated opening date will be sometime early 2017.
The folks at Loma Brewing Company have added a happy hour and a late night menu starting Monday, September 26th. Happy hour will be from 3:00pm to 5:00pm daily. The late night menu will be offered on Friday's and Saturday's from 10pm to midnight.
I've griped a lot about our local restaurants not switching up the Happy Hour menus. I was very happy to see that Cin Cin, one of our local favorites, has put deviled eggs back on the menu. Not just "any" deviled eggs but WONDERFUL deviled eggs topped with 2 little truffled potato chips and a perfect dot of Wasabi Tobiko. These were even better than the last version (although I loved the eggs topped with sriracha sauce).
It's worth a trip in just for the eggs if you happen to be an egg fan. We also tried the latest charcuterie plate. We ordered the small and it is smaller than it used to be but it was plenty for two reasonable size portions.
If you haven't been in Cin Cin lately you really should drop in again and give them a try.
