This may be a tasty concoction, but it is not Brockles Special Dressing.  For the legitimate recipe, see Brockles family website at http://brockles.wordpress.com/ and click on the label, or go directly to the recipe here: http://brockles.wordpress.com/2008/12/09/special-dressing-recipe/.

I wholly concur with Jimmy the Greek, posted above.  I actually made this recipe years ago during my long quest for the "real deal" and it was edible, but certainly a far, far cry from the real thing.  Go to the links posted above and make a batch of this ambrosia.  Think that's putting it a little strong?  Read the comments from people to whom this was a childhood staple, it elicits many warm memories from the past for many of us.

I never had the real one, I just like sound of the ingredients.  My family liked this but maybe we're not as fussy as some.  I'll try the other one too next time.

UCSF Researchers say products with added sugar should be controlled just like alcohol or tobacco. They are  advocating that the government take control of the situation because the citizens are unable to do so. The solutions they suggest include doubling the price of sodas via a sugar tax, put age restrictions on purchase of products containing added sugar and legislate which stores are allowed to sell products with added sugar.

Do you favor making sugar a government controlled substance like alcohol and tobacco?
