South Western Guacamole

While ingredients like cumin are not found in traditional guacamole its fun to try some variations. Serve with blue corn tortilla chips. Adapted from a recipe from Avocado.org.  Visit the Avocado.org website for more avocado recipes.

Ingredients

4 California avocados, seeded and peeled
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tomato, finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
3 drops hot pepper sauce such as Tabasco
Blue Corn Tortilla chips
Cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Using a fork, coarsely mash avocado with lemon juice and garlic. Stir in remaining ingredients to blend.
 
Serve in a Mexican molcajete and garnish with cilantro sprigs and serve with blue corn tortilla chips.
