Ingredients

2/3 cups freshly ground coffee
2 cups boiling water
2 cups milk
4 cinnamon (canella) sticks
Sugar to pass along with the coffee

Instructions

A perfect tool for this beverage is a coffee press (cafetiere). Place the grounds in the bottom of the press or in a pitcher. Add the boiling water and allow the coffee to steep for about 5 minutes or until the grounds settle to the bottom of the press or pitcher.
If you are using the press, press down on the grounds to strain the coffee grounds from the liquid.  Pour the liquid into an empty pitcher. If you have used a pitcher to make the coffee, strain with a fine sieve into a clean pitcher.

Place the milk in a heavy medium saucepan and add the cinnamon (canella) and bring the milk to a boil, stirring occasionally.  Remove the cinnamon sticks with a slotted spoon and set them aside for serving.

Add the coffee to the milk, stir, and pour into cups.  Add a cinnamon stick to each cup and pass sugar to add per each individual's taste

UCSF Researchers say products with added sugar should be controlled just like alcohol or tobacco. They are  advocating that the government take control of the situation because the citizens are unable to do so. The solutions they suggest include doubling the price of sodas via a sugar tax, put age restrictions on purchase of products containing added sugar and legislate which stores are allowed to sell products with added sugar.

Do you favor making sugar a government controlled substance like alcohol and tobacco?
