Storing Dog Treats
In general you should store dog treats the same way you would homemade people cookies.  That being said, there are two main variables that determine storage time - the amount and type of fat in the recipe and your local weather conditions.  If your recipe uses fats such as butter, or meat bits or juices then it will be more prone to rancidity than a recipe that uses some vegetable oil or shortening.  Your treats may mold or spoil much faster in humid or very hot climates.

Refrigeration and Freezing -  Refrigeration will prolong the life of more fragile dog treats. Make sure to store in a tightly sealed container or zip lock bag.  You can also freeze most treats in zip lock freezer bags.  Allow to thaw completely before use.

I added a little more flour so that I could roll out and cut the biscuits into small pieces, with a pizza cutter.  They are crispy and light...I appreciate what some folks say about the fact that these, and other dog biscuits are bland, but I remembered, a dog's sense of smell and taste is 1,000 times stronger than ours.....so maybe  they are not so bland!!!  My gang loves them...

My first go at making dog biscuits and I don't even have to try any other recipe. My dog absolutely loves these! So incredibly easy to make. Though I'd suggest putting the dough mix in the fridge for at least half an hour before making the little balls. Else it just gets sticky and gooey and impossible to handle. I didn't add any extra flour. Just pinched off little balls from the cooled dough and plopped them onto a baking tray. I didn't have any bacon fat so added a mix of olive oil, sunflower oil and pecan nut oil - with 1 dissolved stock cube of chicken and 1 beef (for flavour). They bake into a really crunchy little dog biscuit and it gets gobbled up in seconds!
