Cinnamon Swirl Oatmeal and Raisin Bars

Bars are made with oatmeal, combined with raisins, bittersweet chocolate chips, cardamon and a secret ingredient.. Love'n Bake's Cinnamon Schmear.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (6 oz.) unsalted butter, softened 1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

1 cup Love’n Bake™   Cinnamon Schmear


Instructions

Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Stir together the flour, baking soda, cardamom and salt. 

In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla extract beating to combine.  Scrape the bowl.

Add the flour mixture and oats alternately in three additions on low speed. Stir in the raisins and chocolate chips.

Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Drop teaspoons of the Love’n Bake™   Cinnamon Schmear randomly over the top of the batter.  Using a large spoon or knife, swirl the Schmear into the batter.  Smooth the surface of the batter then bake until cooked through and lightly browned, approximately 30 to 35 minutes.

Let cool and cut into bars.
