Ingredients

Raw sunflower seeds, shelled, hulls removed
Vegetable oil (canola, or other neutral-flavored oil)
Salt (optional)

Instructions

You can use a blender or a food processor, we think the food processor does a better job. If you have a hand-grinder that can be used as well.

Blend the seeds until they form a smooth paste. If the mixture is too dry, add small amounts of oil, a few drops at a time until you get the consistency you prefer. Add salt to taste (optional).

Homemade nut butters will go rancid fairly quickly so they should stay refrigerated. Make the butter in small amounts to avoid waste.
