Ingredients

1 large loaf Italian country white bread
4 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
olive oil

Instructions

Heat the grill or preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Slice bread 1/2-inch thick and grill both sides until golden and toasty, being careful not to burn. If using oven, spread slices on baking sheet and bake about 4 minutes per side. Brush warm bread with olive oil on one side and then gently rub that side with garlic. Do not overdo it or the bread will taste bitter.
