Almond

Spanish name: almendra
  [ahl-MEHN-drah]

A small, sweet, buttery flavored tree nut. Almonds can be eaten at any stage including green as is the practice in some Middle Eastern countries. Typically almonds are sold raw or roasted and sometimes without skins (blanched). California produces 75 percent of worlds almonds.
