Maraschino is a clear, dry liqueur made from Marasca cherries. The liquid includes the crushed pits which provides the subtle yet distinctive bitter almond flavor.  Cherries are processed and distilled in a manner similar to brandy making then combined with a pure cane syrup before aging and eventual filtering.
