Zucchini squash

Other names: Courgettes

An easy-to-grow summer squash eaten raw, boiled or steamed. Also know as a courgette the zucchini which is commonly dark green comes in other colors including grey and yellow. The squash has a bland flavor. This squash should be picked small and young for best flavor. Larger squash can be used to stuff and bake or cut up and used in soups or stews. The squash flowers of this variety are also eaten, see "squash flowers" for more information.
