Yuca flour

Other names: yucca starch, manioc flour, cassava flour, Almidon De Mandioca

Yuca root (Manihot esculenta) also referred to as cassava or manioc is grated and dried and referred to as yuca or cassava starch. The flour has a variety of uses including as a condiment (toasted) sprinkled on food or used as a thickener or for bread making.

 

Although this tuber is sometimes called  "yucca root" it should not be confused with the yucca plant which an inedible and astringent agave.

Substitute for yuca flour

Instant tapioca (grind beads to a fine powder before using) OR cornstarch OR instantized flour (such as Wondra)

UCSF Researchers say products with added sugar should be controlled just like alcohol or tobacco. They are  advocating that the government take control of the situation because the citizens are unable to do so. The solutions they suggest include doubling the price of sodas via a sugar tax, put age restrictions on purchase of products containing added sugar and legislate which stores are allowed to sell products with added sugar.
