Tomato Puree

Other names: tomato puree, (UK, tomato puree = tomato paste)

A thick sauce made from cooked then strained tomatoes. Tomato puree is thinner than tomato paste but thicker and more flavorful than tomato sauce. Tomato sauce has salt and other seasonings added.

Substitute for tomato purée

For 1 cup of puree combine 1/3 cup tomato pasted with 2/3 cup water OR use 1 cup tomato sauce (thicker)
