Substitute for tomato paste

For 1 tablespoon tomato paste you can cook 2-3 tablespoons of tomato puree or tomato sauce and reduce it until it is thick.

6 oz. can   =   3/4 cup

6 oz does NOT equal 3/4 cup. Tomato paste is measured by weight, not by fluid ounces (read the package yourself). 1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste equals 0.625 cup OR 10 tbs OR 1/2 cup + 2 tbs.
