Sazon Seasoning


Sazon is a type of seasoned salt found in Spanish and Mexican markets. The seasoning is used on meats, fish, poultry and even to flavor soups and stews. One popular brand is by Goya Foods. Typical ingredients include, cilantro, achiote, garlic, salt. Some brands contain MSG so check labels carefully if you wish to avoid the additive.



The above version is tomate y cilantro (cilantro and tomato).  Suggested uses include add to beans, sopas, meats and chicken.

Goya Sazon can be purchased a many Mexican or South American markets.  You can also purchase the seasoning online.

Ingredients

Ingredients vary per flavor.  The tomato and cilantro ingredients include: monosodium glutamate, salt, dehydrated garlic and tomato, spices, yellow dye 5 and red dye 40, tricalcium phosphate.
