Parchment paper used in cooking is a silicon based paper that is resistant to heat and is used for lining baking sheets or for cooking "En Papillote'.

Substitute for parchment paper

Silpat silicon mats (for baking sheets). For food wrapping try banana leaves or soaked, dried bamboo leaves, fresh or soaked, dried corn husks.
