Marmite

Other names: yeast extract, nutritional yeast

[mahr-MEET] Marmite is a cooking pot, typically slightly squat with or without lid and two short little handles. The pot is made of clay and used for cooking soups. The clay imparts a specific flavor to the soup or stew.

Marmite is also a brand of "yeast extract". MARMITE is a vegetarian concentrated yeast extract paste, spread on toast for breakfast, in sandwiches at lunchtime, or as an added ingredient in stews and casseroles.
