Ladyfingers

Other names: Savoiardi, lady fingers

A long narrow cookie resembling "fingers". The cookie is light with a slightly dry texture. These are the cookies used in making Tiramisu but they are nice served with tea.

Substitute for ladyfingers

For 1lb of ladyfingers use 1lb Spongecake cut into strips and baked for 10 minutes to crisp OR 1lb pound cake baked for 10 minutes to crisp. These are good alternatives for making tiramisu.

Equivalents

1lb   =   60 to 65 ladyfingers

UCSF Researchers say products with added sugar should be controlled just like alcohol or tobacco. They are  advocating that the government take control of the situation because the citizens are unable to do so. The solutions they suggest include doubling the price of sodas via a sugar tax, put age restrictions on purchase of products containing added sugar and legislate which stores are allowed to sell products with added sugar.
